'Even though God is the wind beneath your wings, you still have to do a lot of flapping.' ~Brian Cavanaugh

Sometimes people see God as the master magician, who can wave a magic wand and everything will be as we want. Unfortunately God does not work that way. The image of God as the wind beneath our wings is a beautiful one. With God on our side we can do so much, we can ride the storms of life, we can have the freedom to go where we want and we can have the confidence to be the person God created each of us to be. But this doesn't just happen and we've got to flap our wings too. We've got to trust. We've got to put our faith and hope into those parts of our lives that we're unsure of. We've got to believe that things can happen. All of this can be summed up in the following prayer: Lord, thank you for being there for me and together we can and will do so much.
